NetLight enables simple and efficient network management. Through its web interface, WAN network status is presented graphically and statistically based on monitoring of the main network parameters: reachability, bandwidth, errors, expenses etc.
WAN
network can be divided into logical maps. Every logical map is a graphical
representation of user-defined network segment. For every node (IP address)
in map you get color coded information about node state: red for inaccessible,
magenta for active backup link and orange for inactive SNA session.
Every
node in map has a hyperlink to detailed information about itself. For every
node it’s possible to see list of events, node statistics, user-defined MIB
variables or, directly form web page, use some of integrated network management
tools.
Automatically
generated statistics can be viewed for single node or for a whole map. Statistic
tables are user definable. Some of accessible information is node up time
(reachability) or down time (inaccessibility) per cent, number of fall-outs
(interruptions in service), total backup link active time, backup time per
cent, mean time of all backup link activations etc.
Node
statistics can also be presented in graphical form. In this form, only four
main parameters are shown: up time per cent, number of fall-outs, backup time
per cent and number of backup link activations.
For
every node unlimited number of user defined MIB variables can be monitored.
Values of MIB variables are periodically collected using SNMP protocol, as
long as variable values are positive integers. Some of the most common monitored
MIB variables are input and output link traffic, link errors, CPU usage, memory
usage etc. Every monitored variable can be graphically viewed in user definable
time interval.
Another
NetLight feature is threshold monitoring. For every MIB variable, user defined
threshold can be monitored. When threshold is crossed, alarm is generated
and e-mail can be sent to administrator.
Except for mentioned, NetLight has many more features like integrated SysLog
server, just to name one. If you are interested in NetLight and would like
